Seaside Family Church in East London will be hosting their annual Oil of Joy Women’s Conference on August 30 at The Regent Hotel.
The 1-day conference was birthed six years ago, with a vision to bring women from different walks of life together for a time of refreshing, restoration and mentorship. “Women today do not have time to separate themselves from their responsibilities to take a fresh look at their lives,” shares Kim Hubbard, church representative, who says the theme of this year’s conference is ‘Restore your joy’.
“Joy is different than ‘happy’,” Hubbard explains. “Happiness is based on what ‘happens’ to us. Joy is based on what we know is true and it’s what brings peace to broken hearts and crushed spirits.”

This year’s visiting guest speaker, Michelle du Toit, is the leader and visionary of Cedars Women’s Ministry – a ministry focused on making sure that every woman reaches her full potential in Christ. Du Toit believes that mentoring other women is the calling on her life and has spent many years pouring out into the lives of others, as the Lord has guided her to. She is one of the organisers of the annual Beauty for Ashes Women’s Conference and is regularly invited to speak at churches and women’s retreats.
The Oil of Joy conference costs R350 per person and includes ministry sessions with Du Toit, mid-morning tea and a buffet lunch. Hubbard says there will be exciting prizes and giveaways on the day of the conference. “It is our prayer for all women to leave the conference with an attitude of hope and true JOY regardless of their circumstances.”
